CLASSES HERE IN THE WORKSHOP
We have a variety of Classes here at our Workshop, from floristry, sewing, pottery, crochet, knitting and embroidery.
Indulge yourself, come to us for a few hours of unadultered fun and enjoyment whilst learning something new or revisiting an old passion for crafts that you may have had a while ago. Let's go back to those wonderful traditional skills and values in life. Our classes have been inspired by inspiring and talented Tutors, all handchosen by us for you.
Make something wonderful, take home a skill and reuse that skill yourself. Give a gift to someone you care about and say that you have made it yourself. You can't do that with a typical "High Street" purchase. Take home with you a new skill, meet new friends along the way and have fun, first and foremost...
You can always pop and see us for a chat and let us know what classes you would like to see here at Lovingly Made...

GARDENING BY DESIGN WITH ALISON | ||
|
|
In the most beautiful surroundings of our fabulous garden, fields and open spaces with lots of lovely plants and flowers all around you, we are delighted to be offering relaxed, informal classes make learning at Lovingly Made simply a pleasure and an inspiration. We have a selection of four classes to begin our venture into gardening with Alison and you don't have to even have a garden to come and enjoy the fabulous array of classes. We are simply delighted to have Alison with us at Lovingly Made. We share a passion for gardening and flowers and all lovely things that grow! Alison has a fabulous ethos, that everyone deserves a great garden and I think she is just so right! Alison teaches in Adult Education and has an wealth of experience with teaching her passionate gardening classes aswell as her own Gardening Design company. Alison passed the Royal Horticultural Society’s General Certificate exam with Distinction. In 2011 she then went onto pass Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Plant Growth, Health and Applied Propagation and in 2012 she passed the RHS Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Garden Planning, Construction and Planting.
Alison combines horticultural science with practical experience to explain to you the 'Why', as well as the 'How' of gardening. You will not be ‘swamped by science’ but you will learn the key principles that turn frustration into success and enable you to go on gardening long after the session is over.
Alison will be offering four classes at the present time, and you can come to one as a stand alone class or come to all four and enjoy a discounted price. What will be great fun is that after some really informative tuition in the Craft School, every class will have a great time outdoors in the Garden Greenhouse and actually getting their hands dirty. One of the fabulous things we all love about gardening, is that it is 'the green gym' everytime! We will talk about terminology of plants, propagating, growing bedding, how and where to grow, and all important colour in the garden too. So, why not roll your sleeves up, put on your gardening apron, or coat, and let's get gardening! Individual classes will be £32.50 each, and you will take away with you at least £15.00 worth of materials, be it your pot, your soil or your plant or all 3 combined. Book 4 of Alison's classes and it will cost you £120.00 - a saving of over £20.00 - and you will take away with you over £45.00 worth of materials in total for the four classes. ***SHOULD YOU WISH TO TAKE UP THE 4 CLASS BOOKING SPECIAL*** and are booking online - then we kindly ask you to book all four classes separately and we will refund you once your booking has come through via PayPal, the difference of £20.00 to your PayPal account - OR - you can collect your £20.00 cash on the first class date. We will confirm your bookings by email and offer you the choice of your preferred refund method. Thank you for your understanding on our accounting procedure.

AM WEDNESDAY 15TH MAY 2013 - COLOURED FOLIAGE IN THE GARDEN - COURSE 1
COLOURED FOLIAGE IN THE GARDEN Well, colour is often the first thing we think about in our gardens, along with smell. But colours are so important on the visuality of your garden. Some people like to just have plants that no link with each other, they just like the plant and the colour is incidental. Other people have to have an all white garden with white flowers and almost silvery leaves to look like white. It is a huge area of interesting debate and discussion and theory! So, today, Alison will tackle just this topic, using her years of expertise in both theory and the outside gardening projects she has completed. This is a fabulously informative class, that can and will help you with not only your garden design, but it will also help you with colour combinations in your garden and how you might re-think how your garden is an extension of your home indoors. Lots and lots of pictures, samples, photographs taken, will help you how to learn to choose and combine plants with variegated and coloured foliage in the garden to provide the key to a successful garden, that of colour all year round! You will get the opportunity to walk around the garden, hedgerow and lane way to look, touch and forage and feel for all the different types of foliage that are around. Some you will have walked by many a time without thinking of its balance in the hedge or the garden before...(Bring your boots and coat too). You might like to bring your camera to take photos of the lovely garden and lane way we have here at Lovingly Made. Taking home sprigs and leaves of your favourites and a list you have combined of the best coloured plants with cultivation information for you to use in your garden design. Handling lots of plant materials so you really do need to have your gardening gloves today! |

HERB CONTAINERS - LOVELY TO LOOK AT, TO PICK, DRY, PUT IN A VASE AND COOK WITH... Today, Alison's class will begin with talking about herbs, herbs and more herbs! How wonderful they are, what a real treat they are to have in a pot or container, just ready to pick for your breakfast, lunch or supper! A real treat is in store for you with the wealth of knowledge and experience that Alison has to offer. With the aid of modern technology, she will whip out her laptop, and project lots of lovely images and pictures to discussion and your note taking too. Paper and pen provided of course! A great informative class for you today, with learning all about herbs, not only how they provide decorative foliage in the garden, but just how useful they are in the kitchen and in the bath too! The class room lesson will also teach you how to grow your own herbs, some very well known, such as mint and those perhaps, not so well known, such as burdock maybe... It is not only how to grow but where to grow your herbs is just as important, dark, light, wet or dry, all will be revealed. After a fascinating and interesting hour in the class room at the Craft School, Alison will take you out to the Garden Greenhouse for a great hour of planting and potting and really getting involved with all the lovely planting side of the class! You will then have the lovely opportunity potting up your herbs ready to take home with you too. There will be a great selection to choose from which Alison will bring with her. You might have a herb you are particularly keen on and it will be an opportunity to talk with Alison about its merits and benefits too. It is a very relaxing class and you are encouraged to ask questions and really get involved as much as you would like to. Plants and compost supplied, please bring with you your own 30cm/10ltr pot (approximately) or treat yourself to a lovely vintage container maybe from the Vintage Boutique!
