I can't believe it is September already...  Where did August go to then?  We might have that Indian Summer yet??? Be hopeful I say!  There has been and still is a hive of activity with the Craft Demonstration Day only a week to go...  Lots of lovely crafts being demonstrated next Saturday the 8th,so why not pop along and have a little peek at what we are going to be getting up to!  The Greenhouse is also a busy place to be, with the Viola's, Pansies and Fuschia's all taking centre stage.  We are making up some beautiful hanging baskets and you can always return your Summer baskets for a refill and get 10% off the sale price - great recycling of your baskets too...  The Studio is going from strength to strength with our Vintage Furniture selling fast and we have some great pieces here for sale and we are off to Ardingly and Kempton soon for a restock, and remember, they are one off's so once they are sold, they go to a new home forever!  We can also try to source pieces of vintage furniture too for you...  So keep in touch and watch this space for the highlights of next weekend, it is going to be a lovely day!    Thanks go to Sue and Paul of Blake and Bromley for coming down to give the Courtyard and great tidy up, replanting, and weeding and it looks fabulous...  What a great team with have! Thank you to Cabby, for making the lovely, lovely tea cups for the Charity Function that Lovingly Made will be providing and creating  the flowers for this Friday coming at St George's Hill Golf Day - a Children's Charity Event.  And finally a thank you to Blossom flowers coming to the fore to help with the flowers too, so thank you Alice!

23/8/12

Our viola's have arrived from Blake and Bromley and we hope to plant them up tomorrow, as the Greenhouse will be a bit cooler as it is going to rain on our Bank Holiday weekend... there's a surprise for us all!  We have posted a note on the home page letting you know, that after much deliberation, John and I have decided that the best way to move forward with the Workshops and the Studio, is to change our working days,  We are hoping that if you have visited us before on a Sunday, then you won't mind changing that to a Saturday or a Tuesday or Wednesday...  Our Sunday opening will finish at the end of September, we hope you understand that in order for the Workshops to run, that we physically cannot manage a 7 day week.  So do take a look at the Workshop Calender and book yourself on a lovely, interesting session with one of our friendly tutors.  Look forward to seeing you soon...

20/8/12

Another fabulous weekend, with glorious weather. Fabulous!  We are busy in the garden and tending to our last hanging baskets, which have given a great display, despite the terrible beginning of the Summer!  Sue and Paul kindly came to help and we can't thank them enough for sorting out the geraniums and putting them into lovely planters.  The tomato plants in the Greenhouse do look just a little bit tidier! THANK YOU BOTH VERY MUCH...  They have also bought down with them the beginning of the new stock that they have, so we have Dahlia's, Fushcia's and some gorgeous Viola's.  We are beginning our Autumn hanging baskets too.  So if you would like yours replanted up, then pop your old summer ones to us and we will do the rest!  We have some lovely stock in the Studio and we have sold some lovely pieces too to new homes.  Remember our Workshop timetable too, take a little look at the wonderful classes we have to offer!

5/8/12

WORKSHOP TIMETABLE NOW OUT... take a peek in our catalogue pages for more information, it is just so exciting!

3/8/12

Busy, busy, busy, the sun has its hat on!  Thanks to Sue for all her hard work helping with the Workshops... We will be emailing, posting, dropping through letterboxes and generally all forms of communication, the Workshop timetable for August, September and the beginning of October.  I cannot thank her enough for all her hard work, it is going to be fabulous.  Thank  you to Sue and Paul, Blake and Bromley, for watering all our plants today and giving them all a lovely tidy up, and for delivering some beautiful plants and flowers, ready for potting up into some of our unique planters and for selling too.  They have been really busy in their greenhouse bringing everything on, quite difficult in this difficult weather.  We have some fabulous furniture in The Studio for sale, and some great quirky garden pots, chairs and tables for sale.  Alas, you will have to wait unitl Sunday to see us as we have a wedding being held in the Gardens, so pray for a lovely day.  See you Sunday, and we are staying open unti 6.00pm too.

31/7/12

Another fabulous weekend came and went!  Sue Strange has kindly agreed to help us with the Workshops and we had a really good meeting of minds and hopefully the timetable will be hitting the printers in the next week. Helen from Helidot is also giving us a Workshop date and we have an Exhibition day coming up soon... So watch the website for more information.  The Studio had a great weekend and some lovely customers came through our doors and we are always pleased to meet you all.  Please come and have a complimentary cup of freshly brewed Italian bean Coffee or a "Teapig" tea here at the Studio...  John and I are moving stock around in The Studio ready for our visito to Kempton Fair to look for new stock this coming week.  We have some fabulous Hydrangea and Lavender for your garden, especially if you fancy a bit of colour and fragrance.  Talking of which, we have a fantastic collection of the most beautiful handmade fragranced candles, all in Vintage cups and saucers and Vintage glass, more on thier way too.  The Garden is looking just fabulous, ready for our big Family Wedding this weekend, so please do note that we are only open for a few hours this coming Saturday 10.00am - 1.00pm - Congratulations to Charlotte and Joe!

24/7/12

WELL, what a fabulous day we had today and the weekend too!  We were busy in The Greenhouse, tidying up all our hanging baskets - the weather really did hit them hard this year.  If you have a hanging basket, to try to get the best out of it, give it a good cut back to the last nodule and tidy it up with your secuteurs.  It really will help with the flowers reshooting and you should get a second wind from them, especially if the weather holds!  Fingers crossed for some sunshine at last...  We have planted up some English Lavender, so beautiful this time of year and smell devine.  You can even cut the flowers off when they are finished, dry them for lovely pot-pourri and use the wood end, once dry for painting your arts and crafts with, so versatile!  We have exciting news with Sue Strange coming to give some Workshops, so do keep an eye on the website for further information.

15/7/12

Where is the sunshine???  I think that like many of you, i feel a lack of sunrays on my face!  But I am not going to let it dampen my spirits...  There is so much to do in the Lovingly Made garden, so we can all keep busy.  Thanks to Sue and Paul for braving the weather too and making our two very sad flower beds look so beautiful and transforming them for us.  We cannot thank them enough and the flowers in the beds really do make such a difference to The Courtyard.  We can now offer you a cup of tea or coffee here in The Studio and a very nice cookie too!  Our Knit and Natter morning is this Thursday, so please do pop along with your needlework and Lesley will be on hand to help with any queries you may have.  We have a wonderful new collection of stunning paintings by Terry in The Studio, certainly worth a peek!  See you soon...

7/7/12

Yes, it's still raining but we can still be cheery in the Garden!  Remember when we had a hose pipe ban and we thought that was terrible, well think on now... We don't need to water the plants and flowers, the grass is beautifully green and the vegetables are nice and strong!   We have some wonderful new crafts and gifts in The Studio and always something to smile about!  We also  have some great new stock arriving next week, so do pop along and have a peak.  Grab yourself a coffee and biscuit and have a good mooch around!  It's never the wrong weather, just the wrong clothes!

1/7/12

It's July already, and sadly we haven't seen much of that lovely sun!  Making it easier to tend our plants and hanging baskets, but harder for the flowers to pop their heads out to say hello!  We have been busy in the Courtyard and there are some fabulous new pieces of vintage and shabby chic furniture for both the Garden and Home.  We have some lovely "Teapigs" tea here for you to try, so pop along for a cuppa! I am going to be busy today, painting furniture in The Polytunnel, some great pieces are getting

ready to go into The Studio... The Workshops timetable is coming along, so hopefully we will be able to get that up and running onto the website fairly soon.  Well off to work now, to get the Studio looking lovely for another busy day.  Might see you later?!

24/6/12

Time is marching on and it is almost the end of June, I really cannot believe where the month has gone and we really haven't had much sunshine!  Roll on July??? A huge thank you goes to Lesley, who stepped in to man the Boutique Studio, whilst John and I popped away.  Our son, also helped, thank you!  Ros, thank you too for checking in too.  What a great bunch!  We are stocking up the Boutique with some lovely pieces of furniture and getting the timetable ready for the "knit and chat" mornings.  The sofa is nice and comfy for all you knitters out there!  The coffee machine should be arriving any time now, so watch this space for update. Hopefully we can start to clean the Greenhouse and tidy it up over the next few days as most of the beautiful hanging baskets are now in their new homes...

9/6/12

A very windy week brought a few trees down and blew away our Jubilee Bunting!   We have had a busy week, thank you!  We are delighted to have more beautiful pottery in stock, so do pop along and take a look.  The new carpet is being laid to the extension of The Studio next week, so fingers crossed, our relaxing seating area will be arranged very soon, for you to take the weight of your feet after looking around!  We have sewn some wild grass meadow seed in the flower beds near The Workshop, so hopefully some lovely flowers to look at soon...when the sun comes out that is!

2/6/12

Today turned into a simply beautiful day and we were lucky enough to sit at one of our French little table and chairs and eat our lunch!  The sun brought some lovely customers to Lovingly Made.  We finished painting the extension to The Studio, just a few finishing touches and we will be able to get a lot more indoor furniture inside.  We are working furiously to get a timetable of our Workshops up and running..watch this space.

27/5/12

Bravo to John today, who has been working by himself today, whilst I nurse a cold! Pathetic I know, and on such a hot day!  Thank you John!  We have had some fabulous vintage finds literally come into The Courtyard and then go to their new homes.  There are still a few items of great stock left, so pop on by soon.  We have been tending our hanging baskets, watering carefully in the evening as it has been so gloriously hot.  We are just in the throws of finishing off the extension to The Studio and hoping to have it painted by next weekend and some new vintage items on display.

WE are gearing up for the Jubilee Weekend, and on such a momentus occasion, we will not be open on Monday 4th or Tuesday 5th June 2012 as we will be having a family party to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

Take a look at some of these beautiful flowers in our garden...

21/5/12

Well, the SUN has arrived!  What a great weekend we had and a good week is promised - f a b u l o u s!  The RHS Chelsea flower show is on, so have a lovely time to all of you who are going to visit and soak up the atmosphere and the beautiful gardens.  We are busy in The Greenhouse and looking after our own flowers and plants, watering regularly, dead-heading our plants and trying to keep control of the weeds!  There is some great new stock arriving both for the garden and home....

13/5/12

The sun has had its hat on!! Fantastic news for all of us wanting to get back out into our garden's.  I know our garden certainly needs some "tlc".  It will be very busy next week if the weather stays fair!
Our hanging baskets are growing very well and selling fast!  Our treasures and furniture are finding new homes all the time too.
The Workshop is coming on a treat - the paint has dried and we are ready to put in all the new desks and chairs.  It is a very exciting time.  We are building up a great team of talented people who are eager to show their talents to you and for you to learn a new skill.  Watch the blog page and the news pages for up to date information...

5/4/12
The Bank Holiday Monday is fast approaching, and it is time to start getting busy in the garden and home!
We have started refitting The Workshop, and the paint is drying as we speak.  We have a way to go, but the building is looking great with a lick of paint!  We hope to get our timetable of Workshops out very soon.  There is a lot of work to do, but it is an exciting time for us here.
We are planting up some more baskets and containers, with Argyranthemums, "Polly, Pomponette Pink and Meteor Red". Some other plants are just popping their heads up through the soil, so they will be next out of The Greenhouse.
We are just finishing painting some vintage furniture, so hopefully they will be in The Studio next week.

28/4/12

What a wet week we have had.  Not great weather for getting out and about in the garden particularly. So we have spent our time in The Greenhouse and have potted on our Geraniums Parade, having taken cuttings last year.  Our Tomato plants also have a new home in their bigger pots too!  We have got our Runner beans into a very large pot and they are already twirling around the bamboo pyramid!
We have some great new peices of furniture in The Studio, with two gorgeous oak chairs at a snip £25.00 each.  They are super vintage!  A delightufl little table followed its way into The Studio and is a great table for popping your morning coffee onto!

Some gorgeous new crafts too!  I have also bought some seeds for the Cutting Garden, so I am going to be looking how to sew those over this weekend.

23/4/12

Well ever since I posted articles regarding "watering your garden", it hasn't stopped raining!  But that is good news for all of us, especially those of us who love being in the garden. I will be writing to let you know which plants I will be putting in the Cutting Garden this week - having picked up a few little cuttings here and there from friends over the last couple of weeks or so.  I put them in The Greenhouse, having potted them on and now with the glorious wet weather, it will be great to pop them into the ground this week. We will also be selling some of our plants in The Courtyard, so pop along and grab a lovely plant or two.
Mum and I have made up some fantastic hanging baskets - again I will let you know how they are getting on, all I will tell you is that this little batch is colour co-ordinated as there is a very special event happening in June and we want to be ready!  So, for now, enjoy the rain - we actually need more to get our reservoir's back to normal levels!

13/4/12

The Courtyard looked great today in the sunshine...

Well the hose pipe ban is in place and it hasn't stopped raining, but we are grateful as it really helps with all the watering in the new flower cutting garden.  We are preparing the area and will pop in our plants over the weekend!

9/4/12

Easter has been a little wet, but great for the garden and for washing all the pavements lovely and clean.  We had lots of cutomers in The Courtyard and in The Studio, collecting their furntiure and picking gorgeous Runculus potted wooden troughs and our popular little Viola baskets for Easter presents!   We have been busy in The Greenhouse planting up some more hanging baskets, ready for the Summer.  The Fencing has been finished around The Greenhouse and the base has gone down for the extension to The Studio.  Lots of lovely plans ahead for the summer and talking of which....Look out next weekend, as  we are hoping to have some more interesting, one off, garden cornucopia in The Courtyard.  See you then!

5/4/12

How exciting, just planted some lovely seeds in the new Cutting Garden...Cornflower, Ox Eye Daisy and Field Scabious.  Popped them into prepared ground, sewed in gently, covered over the soil and watered from the watering can.  Fingers crossed!

And in The Greenhouse, we have planted lots of hanging baskets up.  We are protecting them from the frost, as hanging baskets for the summer should not go outside until the end of May.  Some of the lovely plants we have used are: PELAGONIUM TRAILING BLIZZARD PINK, WHITE AND RED,  VERBENA RED VELVET, FUCHSIA SUNRAY, FUCHSIA HAWKSHEAD, PETUNIA RASPBERRY BLAST, PETUNIA PINK ICE, PETUNIA LIME, LOBELIA RICHARDII AND BACOPA SNOWFLAKE AND PINK.

3/4/12

April is upon us now and we just hope for those April showers!  We have been busy looking for Garden and Home Furniture and  we hope that you will enjoy looking through the collection we now have on show in The Studio and Courtyard.  The Greenhouse is a hive of activity and we have been pricking out Geraniums and Alyssum into little pots.  Our herbs are also growing nicely under the heat in the Greenhouse.   We have sown Chilli and Pepper seeds and they are just peeking out now. Our Car Park is now finished and enables you to park so much more easily and with much more space to turn around.  The Workshop is due for its refit any time now, so that is also very exciting...more news to come.

28/3/12

Well it looks like the end of the beautiful weather maybe on its way, with cloudy days emerging.  We might just get that rain we need.  The Polytunnel is undergoing tidy up ready for the hanging baskets to go into.  They are all ready in The Greenhouse and growing beautifully.  We have designated an area to plant some plants and flowers ready for the summer, hoping that we may be able to cut some for sale and use in our Floristry Workshops.  We hope to have a lovely new selection of furniture for you to look at and may pick up a suitable peice for your Garden or Home.  Here are a few flowers in the garden peeking through in the Spring sunshine...

23/3/12

We have had a busy week, but fortunately, in glorious sunshine!

We have been busy in The Greenhouse planting up Hedra Ivy for the hanging baskets and now just planting some of the baskets up ready to go into The Polytunnel! We have beautiful Geraniums, Lobelia, Petunias, all ready to be potted on.  If your winter bedding plants are still going strong, deadhead them and it will encourage new growth and a few more lovely flowers!  You could start sowing some of your summer bedding plants - those that need a longer growing time.  This is a good time to also stock up on your fuchias, geraniums and margerites. The Studio is being prepared for some new stock coming in too. The car park extension is ready to be used, just a few tonne of shingle to go down and be spread!  Yikes!

.

19/3/12

Well what a wonderful weekend...  The rain stayed away for the most of Mothering Sunday and we were delighted in presenting our beautiful bouquets, arrangements and planted baskets to all our happy customers! Thank you!

We are busy looking for new stock for the Courtyardand hoping to have some ready for next week.  So do pop by! Plans are afoot for the Courtyard, Studio and Workshop, so keep an eye on the website for futher news.  We planted up some more lovely baskets and herb boxes ready now to buy from The Courtyard.  In The Greenhouse we potted on some ivy plants, ready for the summer hanging baskets. We are hoping to get some more seedlings ready soon. The flower bed next to the Workshop is getting some "TLC" and we are digging it over and planting some Hellibores, kindly dontated by a friend.  The car park had some more digging and levelling over the weekend.

15/3/12

We have some great plans ahead and hopefully will let you know through a few lines and photographs of what we are doing...

The Studio is currently showcasing some great peices of shabby chic furniture aswell as some beautifully handmade blanket boxes and a delightful pew!  There are some lovely handmade crafts by local ladies.

The Polytunnel is undergoing a complete transformation - so watch this space for more news.  The Greenhouse has just seen its first seedlings transplanted into their little pots!  The Geranium "Parade" has come up beautifully!
