    ABOUT LOVINGLY US

    1/6/15 - LOVINGLY US

It's relatively easy to be behind the iPhone or website, even Facebook which is a bit ironic really! So I thought it would be great to show and tell you a little bit about us here at Lovingly Made!

    Our Boutique at twilight...

John and I have found running our own business incredibly fulfilling but there is always a flip side - in as much that it can also be a little overwhelming! We always have a very long list of things we would like to do!

At the moment, we are in the process of painting our Boutique buildings, so bringing a coherent colour to them all, a lovely grey.  Our new, preloved (of course!), van has proven to be a great investment, if not a bit scary at the time of buying it.

John and I have our own other personal hobbies and interests, which is important when you are married and working together.  I love walking our dog, going to the gym and a trip to a cinema is a real passion of mine!  John would love to play more golf,  he really enjoys cooking supper, loves to read current affairs and will always take Charlie, our dog out for another walk too.
We are both very lucky that we can be with each other all day, and do our best to 'switch off' from work when we get home!  We try not to talk about business too much, but because we love what we do, we invariably do touch on a few subjects for discussion!
John and I in our Boutique...
Charlie in our van on deliveries with John!
We hope that you find yourself in Sussex soon, and pop down our countryside lane which opens up to a beautiful oasis of calm, lovely Courtyard, Vintage Boutiques full to the brim with furniture and us of course!  Charlie might even give you his paw to say hello!

    With best wishes,
    Trixie x

    DILLY BAG FUN

    30/4/15 - DILLY BAG FUN

We have had four days of such fun here with Liz, a truly marvellous tutor, with "bags" of experience! Excuse the pun!
It is wonderful is the array of fabrics, colours and designs that the ladies have created.
Liz has certainly pushed the boundaries of their sewing machines and hand stitching!

The original Dilly Bag originates from Australia and here we are sewing them  in Sussex!
Keep an eye out for more Quilting and Sewing classes on our website and social media too.

If you would like to see more of these wonderful creations and what else we are up to here at Lovingly Made, both in our Craft School and in our Vintage Boutique, there are lots more photos on our Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram pages too.
    With best wishes,
    Trixie

    ST CATHERINE'S HOSPICE FASHION SHOW

23/04/15 ST CATHERINE'S HOSPICE FASHION SHOW...

What a lovely evening we had on Tuesday this week.
We popped ourselves along to The Haven, in Crawley Down in aid of St Catherine's Hospice Charity Fashion Show event.
It was absolutely wonderful! The fashion show was incredible, especially as all the clothes modelled were from their shops in Crawley and Horley.
You could easily have bought a whole new wardrobe of clothes! At fabulous prices too.
Thank you to my mum, Patricia, who helped me so much, and to Chris and Karen who brought along some of their quilting, crochet and cushions for display.  John was brilliant as always with all the lifting and carrying and his support.  It was a great evening and certainly a wonderful opportunity to buy clothes at fantastically affordable prices.
It is a perfect opportunity to up-cycle and recycle your clothes and that's exactly what we are offering to you too.   We buy and sell your furniture, as well as offering a hand painting service for your unloved furniture. All in all, it's a great way to "drab" to "fab" and "unloved pine" to "simply devine"...
Key words of up-cycling and recycling meant so much this evening as all the money raised goes to keep St Catherine's Hospice going; it costs over £5million a year to keep its doors open to those who need such specialist care.

Pop along to your local St Catherine's Hospice, you might find something lovely to wear!
    With best wishes,
    Trixie

WHY NOT POP DOWN OUR LOVELY LANE FOR A LOVELY MEANDER

15/04/15 - WHY NOT POP DOWN OUR LOVELY LANE FOR A LOVELY MEANDER...

As I was helping John unload the latest hand picked collections of beautiful preloved vintage furniture from our van, I stopped. I stopped and looked at the gorgeous pieces of furniture, curios, treasures and finds that he had brought back to our Vintage Boutique.

Slowly unloading the van, the excitement was mounting with the sheer delights I saw!
I will be photographing items to pop into our website over the next few days.
In the meantime, why not come down and take a little look for yourself?
You are always welcome and we'd love to see you!

Remember we are open Sunday's too from 10.30/4.30. The perfect time to have a meander around our very unique and special destination.

You do know it's East Grinstead's best kept secret place...shhhhhh!

    With best wishes,
    Trixie

QUILTING IS SO ADDICTIVE - BE CAREFUL, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

22/11/2014 - QUILTING IS SO ADDICTIVE - BE CAREFUL, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

    Two Robins for Christmas joy!

We have a range of lovely ways for you to be involved in our Craft School and all that it has to offer.
There are lots of lovely classes and workshops, ranging from our Hobby Heaven, drop in - pop by, mornings and afternoons, which are ono £6.00 and include yummy parties, cake, coffee and tea and above all else, great company too.
Then we have specific learning skill opportunities, furniture painting, rag doll making, fabric sculpture and quilting to name a few.  Quilting like other crafts such as these, knitting and crochet for instance are fabulously addictive.  And the joy it brings is like no other as you are truly making an heirloom piece of work - and the craftsmanship is simply sublime by our students.  Lots of them have been complete beginners and been taught by Jo Poulton, who is just the best.  Liz Grummett has only run classes here too and as brilliant as Jo.
So I am going to illustrate by loading up lots of photos here for you to enjoy and perhaps in the New Year, you will join us?  We have a class for beginners starting in January, so get in quick!

So, come and join in the fun, we would love to see you.  Check out Craftily Creative on a Wednesday and Fabric Friday, yes, on a Friday.  All details and booking system on line or call us at our Boutique.  Be inspired and book yourself onto a class!
    With Love
