Such a wonderful deep and gorgeous colour to this truly classic c19thC, Antique Lathback Farmhouse Chair. The saddle seat itself is a really deep piece of wood and can be seen that it has been sat upon and worn by the natural weathering. Even the handles of the arm rests are beautifully golden and the wood looks and feels soft to the touch from hands gone by.
The arm supports are turned too and are slightly swept away at an angle giving a comfortable arm and hand grip.
The chair itself is very solid and stands on delightfully turned legs with a double stretcher, giving it true stability.
This chair, Elm, has had years of natural wear and many years of use and therefore will have great patina with charming and attractive hues and tone colouration from those years of use. This piece of furniture is a good weight.
