An impressive set of six Vintage Oak dining or kitchen Chairs, made of Oak which originally come from the Library of Edinburgh University, 1920/30's They have recently been upholstered in a hard-wearing upholstery fabric in three lovely, but slightly different innocuous colours which fit into any colour palette.
The seat pads drop into the frame, the front corners are nicely rounded, a lovely detail.
The Vintage Oak Chairs themselves have an aesthetic quality about them, they are a good weight, and stand well-proportioned with a middle stretcher, giving them a comfort bar and stability to the frame.
The back to these chairs are so pretty with the cut out splat and shield, and the splay of the wood is slightly reminiscent of 'Hepplewhite Shield' characteristics.
The fabric has been gently cleaned and are in very good condition.
These Chairs have obviously been sat upon and worn appropriately and this has given the wood lovely colours such as light chestnut, walnut and dark umber; they have some age related small old indentations and marks, merely due to their age.
These are simply delightful Vintage Chairs with such provenance and history. They would look magnificent in your home, being enduring Oak, they have such a warm, cosy colouring and would fit beautifully in a kitchen or dining room setting. The fabric is so easy on the eye too.
Combined, these Chairs are a good weight.
