    SHINY NEW YEAR 2018!

Welcome to January 2018's Newsletter... It is a brand new shiny new year, and with lovely even numbers, I am certain that although it feels lovely and even, no doubt there will be some ups and downs ahead! Which might be quite exciting, in fact, to feel optimistic, I am sure can and will be...

Now that all the glitz and glamour has been taken down from inside our homes, it can seem a little less, well, maybe drab inside. Our walls a little perhaps not so sparkly without the twinkly lights from the Christmas tree fairly lights, and the glistening of perhaps some candles being lit around the house too. I heard the word 'Tinslelitus' and I thought that summed it up perfectly. We might be suffering from a little bout of that.

So I think the best way out of all of that is to grab your wellington boots, or walking boots, a nice warm coat, borrow a dog if you haven't got one, (this is not compulsory), and head out for a good long walk and some fresh air.  There is truly nothing like it for clearing the mind, having a good talk amongst family and friends alike and coming home, putting the kettle on and I know from personal experience, you feel a whole lot better.

    A good walk cures all...

'Tinslelitus' goes quite quickly once the Christmas decorations are packed away and you start back into sorting and clearing up. Those lovely bottles of bubble bath from Auntie Vera actually do smell quite nice after all!

Which leads me on quite nicely to my next point in case - sorting, clearing, tidying and all of that! I have been dabbling with a little of it myself. One job besets the other. Hmmmm I thought, just get that out, meant, hmmmm just get that out, which meant, hmmmm, that means that has to come out too!

So if your getting out of something leads to half sorting out your whole cupboards, and you find that you might find yourself with some furniture you might want to sell - then remember our number.

Having a sort out? Furniture to sell?

We simply love to buy excellent quality pieces of furniture, give us a call. YOUR WISH IS GRANTED

I was thinking about my day and wishing I had more time in my day! I wonder if like me, you sometimes wish for more hours in the day? Well, we were all given an extra hour in October which was fabulous, the clocks went back an hour and hey presto, my wish was granted! So, what did you do with your hour?

    ALARM CLOCK - www.lovinglymadeltd.co.uk

What Did You Do With Your Extra Hour?

My hour was quickly and so easily consumed with my normal day to day chores, walking our lovely dog, meeting John at work. We then went into London for a delivery of furniture, had supper, managed a cup of tea when we got home I actually couldn't remember where our 'extra' hour went!

So as much as my wish was granted that Sunday, I know that they don't all come true. We need to work for our dreams, hopes and for our wishes to come true.

We now have had Halloween and Bonfire Night and Guy Fawkes, so it has been a very busy time of festivities and experiences for many of us. I am sure that there will be lots of wishes being written and spoken about very soon with Christmas looming!

    Guy Fawkes Night Celebrations...

Here at Lovingly Made, we wish for a bright morning most days, as I wake up, I open the windows and look outside and hope that the sun is shining! They say that the first 3 minutes can dictate your mood for the rest of the day, so I wish for the day to bright first thing, that my first cup of coffee to be hot and delicious and then my morning walk or yoga practice to be mood lifting.

We have been busy in the Boutique with weekly arrivals of Antique & Vintage Furniture arriving, so if you are wishing for that elusive piece of furniture, then do pop by, as we have fresh piece arriving every week. We also have our very popular Christmas Wreath Making classes on our website too, so if you wish for some time for yourself, then this is the 'go to' place - 3 hours of pure indulgence just for you and a beautiful luxurious, exquisite door wreath too to take home!

SUMMER IS EBBING AWAY AND AUTUMN IS COMING...

    WELCOME TO SEPTEMBER NEWS...

AS I LOOK OVER THE TOP OF MY COMPUTER, I spy the blackberries ripening, the apples glowing beautifully red on my trees and I can just see the end of the fig tree which is starting to bear glorious fruit. It all sounds mighty grand, but in actual fact, the trees are still small and the blackberries are from the farm hedge! A lovely illusion can be created from a few words.

Let's hold onto those few words because sometimes they are all we need to get us through the day, a hello from someone, a stranger, a nod of the head, creating a positive place in our minds can be all we need to make a difference to our day.

What a wonderful weekend we had at Firle Vintage Fair this Summer!
It was a glorious weekend, it was so hot, not that we were complaining.  The Vintage Cars looked beautiful and the Ice Cream Van opposite us looked the best!

Thank you to everyone who popped their heads in to say hello, those of you who know us already, and to all our new customers, it was fabulous to meet you all.  We hope that you get a chance to pop by our Boutique soon. We'd love to see you again.

    WORKING ON THE WORKSHOP!

JANUARY - WORKING ON THE WORKSHOP!

    THE WORKSHOP - LOVINGLY MADE

    The Workshop

It is really hard to believe how long we've been using The Workshop and how many classes we have had in it too! It really was about time that we gave our lovely Workshop a lovely 'lick of paint' All sounded a great idea, but it meant a lot of hard work ahead. Not that John or I are afraid of hard work!

    THE WORKSHOP - LOVINGLY MADE

Some of the Classes in The Workshop

So, John and I need to pack every single item away, from needles to tables, to bunting to twinkly lights - John loved that job! All packed away, it was then, we realised jut how much the room had served us so well. It really has had some footfall, and John is going to work out how many classes we have had over the last 5 years!

THE WORKSHOP - LOVINGLY MADE   THE WORKSHOP - LOVINGLY MADE  THE WORKSHOP - LOVINGLY MADE

    Getting to work with paint

John started off with painting the floor, which did take the longest time and was the hardest part as it was a really tough paint to apply - being non-slip specialised paint!

I then snuck in and got the really exciting job of 'cutting in' - oh deep joy! and applying Hammerite paint to the sink metal area. Lovely job again!

We then waited for everything to dry properly when the weather was at its coldest (of course it would be!), and then the fabulous job of putting everything back again!

But we have got there and it does look great and we have had a chance to re-think The Workshop and are going to use some of the space as an additional Vintage Furniture Boutique space too - as we are able to open our Workshop room doors to our Customers too look, touch, feel some more of our glorious Vintage furniture...

We hope you love the Workshop as much as we do - some interesting classes coming soon, some beginners Floristry and starters Furniture Painting classes too...

Our 'Drop In Hobby Club's' - Thursday's Knit & Knatter is always popular and Friday's Fabric Friday is a lovely way to come and sew and sew and sew - 10.15/12.45 - join us - (follow this link)

"ROUND ROBIN" NEWS - WHAT A TIME WE'VE HAD...

ROUND ROBIN NEWS - WHAT A TIME WE'VE HAD...

Where has the year gone? I know one thing though, it has gone very fast indeed, I don't know how you feel, but it has simply whizzed past and 2017 is nearly upon us.

First things first, we would love to thank you for your support and friendship this year. We had a super afternoon for our family, friends and customers, with chilled Prosecco, warmed Mince pies, delicious Sausage rolls and cheese straws and a great time was had by all!

XMAS FLOWERS - LOVINGLY MADE VINTAGE BOUTIQUE

Christmas Flowers in the Vintage Boutique

At this moment in time, whilst it is relatively quiet, John and I are busy with our Annual Refurbishment programme. This year, it is The Craft School that is getting a 'makeover'. We are painting the floor and walls, having a little move around, and giving an area over to a 'Wet' area - we are upcycling more and more furniture, which is brilliant for you, us and the environment too. This area will be for more furniture refurbishment, cleaning, and polishing and floristry activities! So watch this space for more news.

THE CRAFT SCHOOL - LOVINGLY MADE

The Craft School gets a lick of paint!

We also said goodbye to our trusted van, which we loved in a funny sort of way, we think. It got us through our our two or three years and we have now taken the plunge and bought another second hand van, which is a little more reliable, and doesn't drink quite as much Diesel. It does mean that we can that we can go to France and around Europe and England with more confidence!

Which in turns means that our Boutique will be full to the brim with exciting finds and lovely treasures! Another reason why The Craft School is being painted and being moved around, so we have a great prep area for our goodies when they are brought back for The Vintage Boutique!

TRAVELLING TO FRANCE - LOVINGLY MADE

    The French Brocantes!

It leaves me to say, that 2017 is nearly upon us, and we have lots to be excited about. There will be some events happening here at Lovingly Made, and changes and tweaks along the way to make way for more beautiful Preloved Vintage and Contemporary Furniture, in the main Boutique and in the smaller back grey Studio once again. The Polybarn will be having a good sort out too this month, so look out for some changes in there too - I think John and I are going to be very busy and exciting busy.  The Craft School is also seeing some exciting new classes too!

We wish you all a prosperous, healthy and happy 2017, 7 is a lucky number...

    2017 - LOVINGLY MADE
    Best wishes,
Trixie and John and Charlie, our best friend, meet and greet dog...x
