    CHARITY BREAST CANCER CARE DAY

10/8/15 - CHARITY DAY - BREAST CANCER CARE

Sadly, 1 in 4 women, who you will know, will have Breast Cancer sometime in their life.
Breast Cancer Care is the only UK based Charity dedicated to care for women in a sensitive and positive way. From advise on Cancer to breast reconstruction to helping to choose a wig...
So here's a little news about our Strawberry Tea for Breast Cancer Care.
    Strawberries everywhere
We had lots of fabulous Strawberry donations, cake, scones, cake, strawberries, cake, mousses, tartlets and cake!
    Delicious!
We had lots of lovely friends, family and customers come through our doors to have a really fabulous morning coffee or afternoon tea, filled with strawberry cakes or a strawberry cream scone or two.

We raised over £400 for this fantastic Charity. So thank you so very much to all of you who either donated a cake or two, ate a cake or two or bought a cake or two to take home with you.
Thank you to all of you, from donations of cash, to washing up, laying the tables out beautifully to the hot water urn. The crochet, handmade knitting and bracelets raised lots of extra money too. Everyone was fabulously generous.
With your support, women's lives can change for the better and every single penny we raised counts towards better Breast Cancer Care.
Thank you all so much for all your support.

Thank you everyone for a fabulous day, even the sun shone for us!
See you very soon, until then, take care of yourselves and your beautiful boobs!
    With love,
    Trixie x

    SEEING FRIENDS WITH ADDED FUN!

    SEEING FRIENDS WITH ADDED FUN!

I think I must have been in a dream over the last couple of days or so. John and I left work for a little trip to France.
With a military timetable organised, van organised, map, passports in hand together with anti-sickness tablets, we crossed over the water to Calais.

Our little "journeé", gave a wonderful excuse  to see our friends as well as taking in the delights of a few of the local vintage fairs.

I really didn't know where to look first! There were some real vintage French gems but sadly the prices of some were so prohibitive.

Having said the vintage French shopping was expensive, we did have such a wonderful time, laughing, looking, and had the odd café au lait or two!

Thank you Carolyn and Becky for such a fabulous time. Here's to our next French shopping time! Oh la la la...

    Best wishes

    VINTAGE SHOPPING FUN

    28/6/15 - VINTAGE SHOPPING FUN

Shopping is fun. No doubt about that, and being a girl too!
But this was shopping fun with my husband for furniture stock for our Boutique here in Sussex.

Going shopping with John for our Boutique shop is great fun. It is one of the truly most enjoyable, if not really hard work, days that we have together.

It's an early start, not as early as some fairs, and a long day too. We started at 7.00 and didn't get back to Lovingly Made until 4.00!  And that was just the start of things!
We then started to unload everything we had bought. John and I then inventorise every item onto our computer accounting system. I then start to sort items into what areas they are, furniture, finds, curios, home and garden.

I then clean and polish our furniture. It is then stock coded, and I then photograph those items going online.  Items are placed into its new home or put into our 'stock holding' area. When I get home, I then import the photographs, choose the appropriate ones for online and export to our website and other social media sites. Which can take quite some time.

I think we finally left at about 7.30 and not even having finished unloading. So the following day, we then restarted. It is a great feeling when everything is unloaded and placed out in its new home!

We really enjoy our buying days. It is a great day of haggling with prices and traders. It is knowing what is "trending" in the home market and seeing potential of furniture. I love seeing something that is unloved and turning my hand to restoring something to pure beauty.

John and I are so fortunate that we both can work together and live together. I think that's called teamwork.

Pop by and see what we have in our Boutique.
    We'd love to see you.

    With best wishes,
    Trixie x

    ABOUT LOVINGLY US

    1/6/15 - LOVINGLY US

It's relatively easy to be behind the iPhone or website, even Facebook which is a bit ironic really! So I thought it would be great to show and tell you a little bit about us here at Lovingly Made!

    Our Boutique at twilight...

John and I have found running our own business incredibly fulfilling but there is always a flip side - in as much that it can also be a little overwhelming! We always have a very long list of things we would like to do!

At the moment, we are in the process of painting our Boutique buildings, so bringing a coherent colour to them all, a lovely grey.  Our new, preloved (of course!), van has proven to be a great investment, if not a bit scary at the time of buying it.

John and I have our own other personal hobbies and interests, which is important when you are married and working together.  I love walking our dog, going to the gym and a trip to a cinema is a real passion of mine!  John would love to play more golf,  he really enjoys cooking supper, loves to read current affairs and will always take Charlie, our dog out for another walk too.
We are both very lucky that we can be with each other all day, and do our best to 'switch off' from work when we get home!  We try not to talk about business too much, but because we love what we do, we invariably do touch on a few subjects for discussion!
John and I in our Boutique...
Charlie in our van on deliveries with John!
We hope that you find yourself in Sussex soon, and pop down our countryside lane which opens up to a beautiful oasis of calm, lovely Courtyard, Vintage Boutiques full to the brim with furniture and us of course!  Charlie might even give you his paw to say hello!

    With best wishes,
    Trixie x

    DILLY BAG FUN

    30/4/15 - DILLY BAG FUN

We have had four days of such fun here with Liz, a truly marvellous tutor, with "bags" of experience! Excuse the pun!
It is wonderful is the array of fabrics, colours and designs that the ladies have created.
Liz has certainly pushed the boundaries of their sewing machines and hand stitching!

The original Dilly Bag originates from Australia and here we are sewing them  in Sussex!
Keep an eye out for more Quilting and Sewing classes on our website and social media too.

If you would like to see more of these wonderful creations and what else we are up to here at Lovingly Made, both in our Craft School and in our Vintage Boutique, there are lots more photos on our Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram pages too.
    With best wishes,
    Trixie
